What is a NEC certificate?
The NEC, or National Electrical Code, is a standard for the use and installation of electrical components. The NEC covers the installation and removal of electrical conductors, equipment, and raceways installed in our homes and businesses. It is considered a regional standard for safe installation of electrical wiring and equipment in the United States.
Why learn NEC?
It's important to learn NEC because it is considered a national standard, establishing a basic level for all electrical safety. This means that some version of the standards have been accepted in multiple states, making it law to adhere to this specific code. You can find which states enforce the NEC here.
