How does the included English language training work?
The High School Diploma + English Language Training Program begins with an English language assessment. Based on how strong your English currently is, you will receive personalized language classes that can help you improve your speaking and writing through EnGen. Once you have improved your English and are ready, you will begin your high school classes.

Do students receive high school credits from their English language training?
Yes! The English language training provided by EnGen will not only help prepare students for their Penn Foster high school coursework in English, but they will also earn credits that count toward their high school diploma.
How long will the English language training part of the program take?
English language training through EnGen can take about 6 months to finish, on average, though some students may need more time depending on how strong their English is when they start.
How long does it take to finish Penn Foster’s high school classes?
After you finish your English language classes with EnGen, you’ll begin your Penn Foster High School classes. The online high school classes are done at the speed that works best for you. You will have up to 3 years to finish your classes if you need more time.
Is Penn Foster High School accredited?
Yes, it is! Penn Foster High School is nationally accredited by both the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC) and Cognia. In addition to our national accreditation, we are regionally accredited by the Commission on Secondary Schools of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (CSS-MSA). Does Penn Foster online High School accept transfer credits from other schools?
In order to successfully transfer credits into Penn Foster High School, you’ll need an official, sealed transcript sent from your previous school for evaluation. Transcripts can be in English or Spanish; our transcript evaluators are able to translate Spanish language transcripts to determine whether you have eligible transfer credits. Can adults enroll in online high school with Penn Foster?
Penn Foster welcomes students of all ages, including adult learners. Enrolling in our high school program is open to anyone 13 years or older who has completed the 8th grade. We know how challenging it can be to earn your diploma as an adult learner, so we do our best to make it as easy as possible for you with our online and self-paced learning platform.
What is Penn Foster's online high school curriculum like?
In order to earn your high school diploma from Penn Foster, you will need to complete 16 core credits and 5 elective credits. Each student gets to choose their five elective requirements from courses ranging from music appreciation and psychology to job-focused courses such as small business management and veterinary assistant.
Our core curriculum is made up of English, math, social science, science, arts and humanities as well as health and physical education courses. If you are transferring credits, your coursework may vary.
