Penn Foster Refund Policy

At Penn Foster, we continue to develop new ways to expand and improve student satisfaction. However, if you are not satisfied or can no longer continue your studies, we offer a generous refund policy. If you cancel within the first 5 days of enrollment (for Penn Foster High School or Penn Foster Career School students) or first 6 days of enrollment (for Penn Foster College students) you will receive a full refund. After the first 5 or 6 days your refund amount will be based on:

Lessons completed
Tuition collected
Enrollment date

If you elect to cancel you must notify us via telephone, email or mail. Penn Foster College students must notify us in writing. Contact information is listed in the Student Catalogs. A detailed refund policy is outlined below. Sample materials shown below cannot be used to enroll in a program.

Penn Foster calculates refunds using the date of withdrawal. Penn Foster determines this based on the date the student made the withdrawal request or when the student is dismissed for failure to abide by the code of conduct, to maintain satisfactory academic progress, or to meet financial obligations. Penn Foster processes any refund due to the student within 30 days of the date of withdrawal.

Schools

If you cancel within 5 calendar days of signing the enrollment agreement you will owe: $0 (100% refund)

If you withdraw after 5 calendar days:
- Before submitting a completed program assignment you will owe: registration fee + administrative fee + shipping and handling fees (if applicable)
- Up to and including 10% of the program assignments completed you will owe: registration fee + administrative fee + shipping and handling fees (if applicable) + 10% of refundable tuition
- After 10% and up to and including 25% of the program assignments completed you will owe: registration fee + administrative fee + shipping and handling fees (if applicable) + 25% of refundable tuition
- After 25% and up to and including 50% of the program assignments completed you will owe: registration fee + administrative fee + shipping and handling fees (if applicable) + 50% of refundable tuition
- After 50% of the program assignments completed you will owe: full program tuition and any applicable fees
The percentage of the program completed shall be determined by comparing the number of completed lessons received for services by the school to the total number of lessons in the program.
